Associate Director, Pipeline Marketing – EU

POSITION SUMMARY

This position plays a key role within the commercial organisation focused on driving commercial activities for Zogenix’s pipeline programs across EU and leading the pre-launch activities for its lead program, MT1621. The scope of the role includes initial exploration and quantification of any patient in Europe who could potentially benefit from MT1621, possibly extending into other product remits in the medium to long term.

He/she participates in commercial planning and market preparation activities by providing objective, in-depth insights on current and future market shape and opportunities/threats, customers and competitors. The position identifies critical business issues and quantifies opportunities for growth, collaborates with commercial/cross-functional teams, and drive strategies to evaluate and set the direction for the product in the EU region.

Essential Duties and responsibilities

  • Partners with global and regional teams to develop commercial strategies to address market opportunities, builds business / go-to-market plans
  • Drives market development/ pre-launch activities for pipeline programs in EU
    • Partnering with regional and global commercial team (Market Access, Product Marketing, Commercial Operations, Field Teams), Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Customer Facing Excellence (CFE) and others
  • Drives patient profiling, pathway mapping and diagnosis campaigns
  • Builds and leverages relationships with Key Opinion Leaders and patient advocacy groups to develop understanding of disease dynamics / unmet needs in order to evaluate then quantify the MT1621 opportunity in EU.
  • Provide input into global branding and messaging and support the localization of materials and resources for the region as needed
  • Prepare regional brand and launch plans in collaboration with internal teams
  • Inputs into EU market potential / revenue forecasts and expenses required to achieve them
  • Designs and oversees primary and secondary market research projects and advisory boards in collaboration with internal cross-functional teams
  • Evaluates and provides internal guidance on the regional market landscapes, monitor changes and predict trends in market dynamics and competition
  • Prepares insights and training materials for in-country briefing and preparations for launch
  • Upholds the Zogenix corporate brand by acknowledging any potential synergies with other Zogenix marketed products, with respect to strategic direction, tone of voice and presentation to the market
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum:

  • Strong English language skills (reading, spoken and written)
  • Minimum bachelors, preferably in a type of life sciences and/or business / marketing

Preferred:

  • Higher qualification of MBA or masters preferred
  • Any additional language skills are an advantage

EXPERIENCE

  • 8+ years in life sciences industry with 4+ in marketing, sales or commercial operations roles
  • Excellent knowledge of the end-to-end life sciences development process
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, strategic and analytical skills are required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with internal and external cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives
  • Management consulting and product launch experiences strongly preferred
  • Ability to rapidly learn and work across multiple disease areas
  • Good understanding of the ultra-rare disease management pathway in Europe
  • Experience working in orphan or specialty markets, especially genetics or neurology, with cross functional team members a plus
